Basketball stars and other athletes are great role models for young children. They represent health, dedication and success in their sport of interest. Hometown athletes can serve as local heroes, who many children aspire to be like. Here in Miami, Lebron James, star of the Miami Heat takes on that role.
Not only does he do great things on the court, but he does some really great work off the court, too. A new 10-part animated web series, The LeBrons, is being created to provide positive messages to today’s youth. The show will feature Lebron in four different stages. There will be the “kid” which is the protagonist, the “athlete” which is the basketball star “business” which is the professional and “wise” the grandfather-like character. All will be living in Akron, Ohion, Lebron’s hometown.
The series is featured on the Youtube Channel. All the episodes feature lessons that will teach respect and the importance of school to children. There are some guest stars appearances from famous music artists. With the popularity of this star athlete, he is doing all he can to promote the shows.
Since Lebron is a big supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, a portion of the proceeds from the show will go to buying computers for many of the centers around the country. He also helped oversee the production, added vocals for the show and did live introductions for the episodes.
This series is another example of celebrities doing good for the children of today’s society. Centered on moral lessons, these shows are a positive example of learning from experience.
