Natural disasters are devastating events that affect people all over the world, not only those who are directly involved in one. From hurricanes and earthquakes, and most recently tsunamis, there are a lot of things that children need to know about these world-changing events. Sometimes it can be hard for a child to understand what is going on, along with all the side effects that occur.
Currently the news has some great coverage of the tsunami in Japan. To start explaining this horrible event to children, often times people need to break it down, so that they understand what is happening.
